It all started at work because nothing says “true love” like fluorescent lighting and endless email chains. We had seen each other around the office, exchanged the usual quick hellos, and shared a number of 'lunch crew' lunches...then came the fateful happy hour. It was supposed to be a big group outing with a bunch of coworkers unwinding after a long week. One by one, everyone dropped out until it ended up just being the two of us. We figured we would still go for a drink, and what was meant to be a happy 1 hour turned into five, then 6 years. We talked about everything from work and life to favorite songs, and by the end of the night, it was pretty clear something special had started. Not long after, the world turned upside down. Being a COVID couple came with its own set of challenges and a lot of takeout. Between virtual meetings, cozy nights in, and learning to navigate life together in close quarters, we discovered how easy it was to love each other even when we couldn’t leave the house. Looking back, it feels like that happy hour was meant to happen exactly the way it did. What started as two coworkers grabbing a drink turned into the greatest adventure of our lives. Now we cannot wait to celebrate this next chapter with all of you, the friends and family who have cheered us on from the very start.
