Our guests' health, safety, and comfort is our top priority. Because there are going to be people over 65, children under 5, and immunocompromised guests in attendance, we ask that everyone please take a test the morning of. Tests are available at every drugstore, but if you find yourself having trouble getting your hands on a test, just email or text Jacqueline (718-916-3394). She'll have some extras. As the CDC continues to expand access to booster shots, we’d suggest everyone stay up-to-date on vaccine boosters.
In lieu of gifts, if you're so inclined, consider donating what you'd spend on a gift to a food bank, mutual aid fund, or other cause that speaks to you. May we suggest the following? -Caribbean Studies Program at the University of Toronto: https://engage.utoronto.ca/site/SPageServer?pagename=donate#/fund/899 -Good Old Lower East Side: https://www.goles.org/ -Metropolitan Council on Housing: https://www.metcouncilonhousing.org/ -National Network of Abortion Funds: https://abortionfunds.org/ -Urban Ministries of Durham: https://umdurham.org/ -Zinn Education Project: https://www.zinnedproject.org/ Above all, your presence will be a gift to us!
Nope, but the ceremony will be taking place on the roof, and it will probably be hot and humid, so keep that in mind. We'd suggest wearing something you feel comfortable in and makes you happy, something formal-ish but not necessarily as formal as black-tie (unless you feel like it, in which case, awesome!). For example, button-down shirts, summer dresses, etc. If you like black, wear black. If you like bright colors, wear them. It's really whatever makes you feel good.
