We went on our first date at a Sushi Hana! Our date lasted hours because we immediately got lost in conversation for over an hour before we even took a minute to look at the menu and we've been inseparable ever since. Besides the sentimental attachment we have for this restaurant, this is hands down the best sushi in town as well. (Disclaimer: we actually went to the Pooler location, but they have since opened this new one in Savannah that's much more conveniently located if you're staying downtown.)
Take a stroll on the famous and historic River Street in Downtown Savannah! Don't forget that Savannah is an open container city!! Stop into any bar along the way to get an alcoholic beverage of your choice and take it to-go in a plastic cup on your stroll.
This is one of our favorite bars downtown. The entrance is located in an alley (hence the name) and walking down the stairs to the bar will transport you back to the 1920s prohibition era. Their menus are make to looks like newspapers and are FULL of unique and funky drinks. Make sure to tell us which ones are your favorite!
Savannah may be a small city but it is packed full of history and historical places. The best and easiest way to see it all would be to take a trolley tour. We recommend this tour company over some of the others in town because it is locally owned and each driver has their own script. That means that each time you ride, you get to hear new and unique facts. We recommend doing the hop on - hop off tour so that you can get on and off the trolley as you please throughout the day. Speaking of tours, we definitely recommend doing a drinking ghost tour at night with one of the many companies in town. Savannah is one of the most haunted cities in America so there's a good chance you'll see a ghost or at least feel the goosebumps that come along with being in the presence of one!
Travis swears this restaurant has the BEST shrimp and grits in all of Savannah. They don't do reservations though so it's just first come first served for tables.
This museum features outstanding artwork from current SCAD students, alumni, and non-SCAD affiliated artists. Claudia works within the SCAD Athletics Department and this building is just a stones throw away from her office.
Collins Quarter is probably the most well known brunch place in Savannah! They have two locations, this one and one at Forsyth Park. Because of it's popularity, it gets very busy very fast so go early and be prepared to wait for a table.
The famous Forsyth Park is a must see! Make sure to stop by the iconic 165-year-old water fountain.
