Liz & Alex first met in October of 2009 at The Wild Rover in Manchester, NH. Ironically, they didn't end up talking to each other at all that night but both Liz's roommate and Alex's roommate exchanged numbers just in case. However, because of Liz's vigorous nursing school schedule, it wasn't until months later that they actually met up again. They dated for a few months in early 2010, but ultimately decided it was best to go their separate ways. Later that same year, Liz moved to Washington DC and Alex to Salt Lake City, Utah. The couple finally reconnected during the summer of 2011 via Facebook. Even though their timing still wasn't perfect, they knew they shared something special. In October 2012, Liz flew out to SLC and they road tripped back to NH together. The rest is history!
In January 2018, Liz & Alex planned a weekend trip to Flagstaff, Arizona for Liz's 30th birthday. They woke up early on Saturday morning to take a hike in the nearby mountains. Remarkably, a few inches of snow had fallen the night before and upon arrival it was clear they had the trail to themselves. A beautiful clearing opened up after a few miles of hiking that looked like an acceptable spot to stop for lunch. While Liz was busy clearing off a rock from snow, Alex reached into the backpack that Liz had been wearing throughout the hike. When Liz turned around, Alex was down on one knee with a particular question to ask. She said yes! Upon returning into town, Liz and Alex stopped in at a bar to watch the Patriots defeat the Jaguar's in the AFC Championship game. It was a day to remember for sure!
