“Vote for Aliza as Senator!” In 2011, that’s all anyone could see, read and hear. The campus of Chaffey College was full of posters, flyers and students rallying all around. Without a doubt, she became a Senator with the highest votes for a group known as “Altruistic Scholars Competing in College”. Psych! She was in a group known as the “Associated Students of Chaffey College”. Still very altruistic in nature but you know, just student government. Eri on the other hand was an incumbent. He was well versed in serving his college peers and would stay late often to help with student affairs. It was one cold evening in the Arts building at Chaffey where Aliza was pouring coffee for students who just finished class. She heard co-Senators discussing Big Sean’s music video, “Dance” and interrupted them. “That music video is crazy! May 22nd 2018 – The Big Three Two for Eri! Birthday Brunch – Check! Birthday Cake – Check! Birthday Dinner Plans – Check! Birthday Swag – Check! Eri made sure everything was going according to his plans for his special day. Usually Aliza is the one to plan everything but, this year Eri wanted to take the lead. This year he knew exactly what he wanted to do for his birthday. Little did Aliza know though…Birthday Ring – Check! The two love birds had breakfast with Eri’s family that noonish and went home to get ready for their day together. They had dinner plans at 71Above in Los Angeles and if there is anything we all know, it is that the 91 traffic is a B****! They left hours before and when they finally reached the restaurant, they watched the sun set over the hills. Eri and Aliza dined magnificently, glancing at the views from nearly 1000 feet above Los Angeles. After dessert, Aliza wanted to get a picture. She had both hands on the glass, struggling to look down the window. She turned to Eri to position themselves against the view for a great picture, but what she found was far greater. Eri was on one knee, asking Aliza for the best birthday present she could ever give him – a life full of love and commitment.
