Before college started I had only heard about Dan once from a friend, and I didn't really know anything about him. The first time I went to Campus Ministry, I met all the other Malu Freshmen. They told me that Dan was a player (later I found out this was a joke) and to give him attitude when I met him later that day, and so I did. Although we didn't start off on a great note, we quickly became good friends. One night, I was working on an essay at the Undergrad library and Dan joined me. We decided to pull an all-nighter at the library with the intention to study, but we ended up talking the whole night. I remember thinking he was pretty cool when I realized one of his favorite songs in middle school was "In the End" by Linkin Park too! Our fellow Freshmen classmates would always joke around saying that since we were the only Kna people in our class, we would end up getting married one day. During finals week, Dan got really sick so I bought him some medicine. On my way back, I texted him not to tell anyone because it'll just be ammo for our classmates to tease us. Dan asked what I thought about the teasing and I said " It's annoying, why?". He said he'll tell me when we go to the library. At Grainger Library the next day, I asked Dan why he asked me what I thought about the teasing and while shaking nervously, he told me he liked me. I was shocked and kept "working" (aka fb messaging Jackie on the side to tell her what just happened). After about 10 minutes, I said “Wait, what do you mean you 'like me?' Like me, like a friend or as more than a friend?" He started nervously shaking again and said "Why can't it be both?" and the rest was history. Here we are years later, months away from calling each other husband and wife.
