Lebanon is going through a dire financial crisis. We won't get into the confusing details of why here... In most cases, you will need to pay your daily expenses in cash, in Lebanese liras (food, taxis, drinks, market etc). You can also pay in USD - which would be welcomed by vendors. We will share more information about where to exchange money soon. Some hotels and shops will accept your foreign credit/debit card. Do assume however that Lebanon is a cash economy. ATMs/card withdrawals do not work in Lebanon. We recommend you withdraw US Dollars before you arrive in Lebanon.
Water - Do not drink tap water. You can buy bottled water everywhere. Electricity - Power cuts are very common in Lebanon. Your hotels/guest houses will most probably have an electricity generator. Don't be surprised though if you experience regular power cuts. We recommend you have a power bank to charge your phone.
