Question

How do I get a COVID test in Italy?

Answer

** Update June 12: COVID test is no longer needed to get back into US, but here is the info below in case you would like to get a test while in Italy** OPTION 1: LOCAL PHARMACY Most pharmacies offer rapid COVID test (but not all the pharmacies). Some laboratories require an appointment and if you need a negative certificate in English, there might be an extra fee. When we traveled in December, Italian version was fine, no English translated necessary. In our experience, we found this local testing option to be very fast and easy. The hotels are very helpful in assisting as well. This page offers s a list of laboratories and pharmacies, as well as options to book appointments: https://www.theflorentine.net/2021/12/15/where-to-get-a-covid-19-test-for-international-travel-in-florence/ OPTION 2: BRING COVID TESTS WITH YOU Abbott BinaxNOW™ COVID-19 Ag Card Home Test (MUST be this exact version with eMed virtual testing facilitation). is FDA Emergency Use Authorized. This test combined with eMed telehealth services, and eMed lab's result, meets conditions of proof of negative COVID-19 test by the CDC. This is accepted by airlines for passengers traveling to countries that accept an antigen test for entry, including the US and Canada and by cruise lines with ships originating from the US or Canada. *Make sure you have a steady internet connection before beginning your session (can sometimes be spotty in Italy). Question

Are masks required in Italy?

Answer

Entry regulation and inside regulation are slightly different. Until June 15, the use of more protective FFP2/KN95/N95 masks is mandatory to participate in all indoor athletic, cultural and recreational events, and on all transportation. Our wedding planners still don't know how it will be after June 15th, but we will provide an update. We've also heard mask requirements vary from city to city. N95 masks are mandatory on certain train routes. Come prepared to Italy with N95 masks. Can be purchased here: https://www.amazon.com/Respiratory-Particulate-Protective-Comfortable-Protection/dp/B09FP47Z8Q/ref=sr_1_2?crid=3GVMDJG7AYDAI&keywords=face+mask+n95+20+pack&qid=1654309383&sprefix=face+mask+n95+20+pack%2Caps%2C141&sr=8-2 **You will not be required to wear a mask at our wedding or welcome party event**
