An online dating app matched Alix and Wiley shortly before the global pandemic. With a pick up line about pictures of boats and a week of texting, Wiley met Alix up at North Station for their first date at a cocktail bar in Boston. It was friendship, companionship and love at first date. Once Kai dog fell in love with Wiley at first sight, the rest was history. In a bold move, the three of them packed up and headed to Wiley’s dad’s house in Connecticut on March 19, 2020. With the global pandemic a few weeks turned into months. After splitting time between their family homes and 600 sq. ft. in Charlestown, they moved in to their first home together in Danvers in May of 2021. Looking to share his love of golf, Wiley joined nearby Turner Hill and patiently taught Alix how to play. What he didn't expect was watching Alix quickly join the social committee and Wiley was soon known as "Alix's boyfriend" at the club. Those lessons were either going to end in a breakup or marriage, as Alix's dad said, but it became one of their favorite ways to spend time together. After a little over a year of living together, Wiley got down on one knee with Kai sitting next to him at Crocker Park in Marblehead, one of Alix's favorite childhood spots. With three of our most important people there to witness, his best man Warner and her maid of honor Katie, she said the easiest yes of her life. When her dad ran out from hiding in the bushes the perfect moment was complete. We are so excited to be able to welcome all of our loved ones to celebrate with us at Turner Hill in June.
