Rental Cars

If you are flying in for our wedding we recommend renting a car. While downtown Traverse City is walkable, it will be difficult to get around the area without having your own transportation. Please let us know if you have questions!

Flight

Cherry Capital Airport (TVC)

This is the main airport in Traverse City, MI. If you want the most direct route to Traverse City we recommend flying in here!

Flight

Gerald R. Ford International Airport (GRR)

Another option is flying into Grand Rapids and driving up to Traverse City. GRR is bigger than TVC so you might find more/better flight options here. It is about a 2.5-3 hour drive up North to Traverse City, depending on which route you take. If you take the scenic drive on M22 you will get to see amazing Michigan sights with beautiful fall colors!

We love the Bayshore Resort! Even in the fall months staying on the Bay is a treat. This Victorian style hotel is nestled on the beach of West Grand Traverse Bay and offers the best of Traverse City – a great waterfront location and a short stroll away from downtown with its diverse dining, shopping, and nightlife. The resort has multiple options for accommodations at affordable rates! The Bayshore Resort is about a 15 minute drive to the Peninsula Room.

Hotel Indigo Traverse City

Set in a brick-and-stone building across the street from the beach and West Grand Traverse Bay, this informal hotel with an industrial-chic vibe is right in the heart of downtown Traverse City. If you want to be able to walk downtown for a cup of coffee, shopping, or a drink we recommend staying here! The hotel is about 20 minutes from the Peninsula Room.

Staying in Airbnb's is our preferred way to travel! We love that they offer an experience that you wouldn't have in a hotel. Traverse City is many wonderful options for Airbnb's- we think it's an especially good option for families who want more space than a hotel room can offer. The URL currently searches in the Traverse City area. If you are unable to find something that suits your needs, we recommend expanding the search to Sutton's Bay for additional options. In addition, you might be able to find good deals listed on VRBO vacation rentals - we have not included their website link on this page.
