We met at a concert at Red Rocks Amphitheater and didn’t think much of it. He lived in Illinois, and I lived in Colorado. This was his weekend away to visit friends, but those friends happened to be my roommates. From the moment we met, we spent the best weekend getting to know each other. He managed to get my number at the last minute the day he was leaving. And it just clicked from there. He texted often, I called him more. There were late nights of Facetime. We harmonized by accident. After continuous back and forth flights to see each other, that’s pretty much when we thought, “Okay. This could be something.” A year later to the date, he moved to Colorado and our lives began together.
On my father’s birthday, we went to a beautiful location, the Bahai Temple, in Chicago to take “family photos.” Everything was planned for Alix, and she was clueless. When my family dissipated into the grounds, I took Alix for a romantic walk through the garden. We walked up the high stairs and looked out into the grounds. It was the perfect moment. I got down on one knee and said: “Will you be my wife?” She said, "yes!" And, here we are today. We are so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in Chicago!
