On February 29, 2020 Alix and Abigail met at a worship night in Atlanta. Abigail was invited to the night of worship by her mom, and Alix was the worship leader that helped plan the event . Although Abigail was reluctant to go at first, she and her friends came and ended up leading worship at the beginning of the night. Alix asked to join them by playing bass, and that’s when Alix and Abigail sang their first song together and would go on to sing many more songs together. Later on that night Alix and a few of his friends went out to dinner with Abigail and her friends and that’s where their friendship began. Later that year, Alix and Abigail would record worship videos together for their church during the pandemic. Every Wednesday for almost 5 months, they would practice and sing together as friends, not knowing that God was doing something really special in them and through them. As their feelings for each other grew beyond friendship, God led them to go on a 40 day fast and to pray for direction for their relationship and possible future together. After that fast they knew that they were supposed to be together and decided to go on their first official date on November 10, 2020. The rest is history!

On a rainy Sunday morning, Alix and Abigail carpooled to church together as they usually do. Abigail was a little bit under the weather, and it was raining, so there was definitely allot of uncertainty for Alix on how he would propose that day. Since all of Alix’s plans to propose were outside, he had to adjust and really trust the Lord with the day. So after some brainstorming that morning, he had a friend of there’s “invite them” to The High Museum of Art after church for a double date. So after church they went to the museum. Abigail kept looking for their friends but there were nowhere to be found. After 30 minutes of looking for their friends Abigail got frustrated that they couldn’t find them. Alix finally makes up a story that their friends had an emergency and needed to leave, so they decided to leave as well. Before they left, Alix “went to the restroom” and called their photographer to make sure he was in place for the proposal. Alix and Abigail walked outside toward the car and under a bridge Alix paused and dropped down on one knee to ask Abigail to marry him. There was so much joy with hearts full of love for each other! They knew that this was one of the best moments of their life, because God was sovereign in their engagement. And... SHE SAID YES! And now Alix and Abigail are so excited to begin there future together in July!
