There's 3 people to thank for us meeting... God, Brett Young and Madison!! What can I really say? Madison introduced us and Robert bought us a drink...then we didn't see him the rest of the night. Fast forward to a few days later when I talked to Madison. Madison: "Guess who messaged me?" Me: **Responding in half a second** "Robert?????" Madison: "What? No, why would it be Robert?" Me: **Embarrassingly** Oh, I don't know. No reason!!" Moving along, I reached out to him to express how nice it was to meet him and how I needed to send him money for my drink. He told me not to worry about it and that I could get him back next time... And I thought to myself... "So, there's going to be a next time.!!??!!!" Robert would ask me from time to time what I was doing for the weekend and my response was usually that I was going to be hanging out at home to be with my dad because he was so sick. Robert was so understanding and told me he would be praying for my dad and to let him know if he could do anything to help. I think that speaks for itself. We learned that Rylynn attended the same small Christian school that my nephew did, and that Robert was the athletic director there!! It seemed that everything was just falling into place... except how nervous I was to meet Rylynn!!! It had only been a few weeks and I asked Robert a million times if he was sure he wanted me to meet her and if her mom was okay with it! He reassured me of it and said to just relax because it would be okay. I sat in my car at Jason's Deli and waited for them to arrive. I started walking to the door. My hands were sweating, and my heart was racing so fast.... for no reason at all!!! I was greeted with the biggest smile and hug. When we sat down, she said she had just one question for me... "Are you a Christian?" My heart melted as I shook my head and told her I was! We have been Besties ever since! My favorite part of our story is how Robert was able to meet my dad and spend a short period of time loving and helping him before he left us, to meet Jesus. Robert is the only man that my dad has ever approved of and loved (when it comes to me). For those of you who know me, you know that my dad never felt like anyone would be good enough for me, so it just reaffirmed that I found the person I was meant to be with! There was no denying that God was responsible. Over the past year and a half Robert and I have been able to do some pretty amazing things together. We have gone to many country concerts, numerous VGK games and Disneyland! I even got Robert out on the dance floor to show him some dance moves and now he can spin me around on the dance floor all night! We also had the opportunity to spend time together helping coach volleyball and basketball at Rylynn's school. We have both gained new family and friends as our relationship has grown. Robert loves to spend time with my brother Johnny and his family and has enjoyed getting to know all of my family back in North Carolina, where we all spent Christmas together. I have grown close to and just love Robert's mom (and been to country concerts, BBQ's, and spent holidays together) and have met his aunts, uncles, and cousins. We could not be more thankful for the relationships we are developing with each other's family. It is overwhelming how supportive everyone in our lives have been. We cannot wait to see where this life takes us and to see what God has in store for us. We are so humbled and thankful for all that He has given us so far! We know that our meeting was not by accident, but by God who brought us together that night. "Be devoted to one another in love.
