ali & todd wedding hype
Ali and Todd met the old-fashioned way: in middle school, deep in the Long Island suburbs, with barely an acknowledgement of each other’s existence. Since then, they have met over and over again – in concert band, first period social studies with Mr. Lee, and at the childhood homes of mutual friends. Each time, it didn’t really stick – until it did. During spring break of their senior year of college, Todd asked Ali if she had plans for St. Patrick’s Day, a holiday she had never previously celebrated. They both made plans to go into the city and had (to Ali’s horror and eventual delight) an impromptu first date watching Todd’s friends play in a folk band and visiting the long-forgotten Ella dance club. And dance they did, officially closing down the place at 3am. It was in the midst of that cocktail-filled, DJ Khaled-infused night that both realized something beautiful was starting to happen. Ali spent most weekends for the rest of the spring semester driving to visit Todd at Vassar and confirming to herself that this person, who was right there all along, was her person. After over 12 years in a committed relationship spanning multiple cities across state lines, momentous periods of personal and spiritual transformation, and myriad existential conversations deconstructing and re-creating the meaning of marriage in the 21st century, Ali and Todd confidently and enthusiastically say “yes” to their wedding industrial complex era. Both are grateful for their unparalleled bond and unwavering love for each other. The two are elated to celebrate the magic of their love in community with loved ones from coast to coast.
