While we did think about just getting married, we really wanted to celebrate our wedding with family and friends. Over this past year Tom and I have spent a lot of time together, and we have come out of this closer, stronger, and more in love. I have added more photos to share our adventures in the PNW over the past year - we hiked a lot.
We were introduced by our humble friend, Cory, several years before we started dating. Then in June 2015 Tom found out that he would be transferring up to Portland, Oregon. Due to Cory's last attempt of nudging and pushing we started to date that summer. Four months later Tahoe (my dog) and I moved up to Portland. Tom and I have enjoyed creating a life here and exploring the beautiful Pacific North West.
I should have been suspicious when Tom put on a nice shirt and suggested we go for a walk to the rose garden. At least suspicious enough to change out of my running shorts and tank top, but Tom said I looked beautiful. During summer the rose garden is always packed, and Tom kept complaining about all of the people there; I did not think anything of it. Tom found a little corner of the garden away from the crowd and pulled a box out of his pocket. Everything is a blur for us, but I do remember him asking if he should get on his knee and I told him yes and to put the ring on my finger. I had picked the ring out months before, but the moment was a sweet surprise. The rose Tom happened to propose next to was called 'The Wedding Party' and it won 1st place the next summer.
