Brady and cousin Ben J have been friends since Junior High. They both grew up in Lakeville, where Alissa would frequent from Rock Island to visit Aunt Pam. Alissa was in 5th grade the first time she met Brady (he has no recollection of this time, he was a too cool 8th grader). She had a big crush on him and always knew which player he was on the football field by the red shoe covers he wore (so dreamy). The crush faded as she grew up, but she never forgot.
Alissa moved to Los Angeles and Brady moved to Eau Claire. Then cousin Ben J decides to get married and the wedding becomes the catalyst for the love connection. Everyone parties at the Pickle two nights before the wedding. Alissa and Brady continue the party the next morning taking breakfast shots at Dooley's Pub.
As the years go by, Alissa is still in Los Angeles, Brady moves to Milwaukee. They keep in touch every so often but live on different sides of the country. Fortunately, Jeffrey meets Ashley and he moves to Minneapolis. Around the same time, Brady decides to move back to the twin cities. Jeffrey, Ashley, and Brady all move in together and Alissa starts to visit quite a bit more. When Jac (Alissa's sister) has a wedding and needs a bartender, Brady to the rescue. He flew to LA and spent the weekend helping with the wedding and falling in love (is what I tell myself).
After Jac's wedding, Brady decided to tell Jeffrey how he really felt about Alissa and Jeffrey told him to ask her out. While it took a while to get used to, Brady was no longer just Jeffrey's best friend, but now Alissa's boyfriend. They got to know each other, fell in love, moved in together, adopted a dog, traveled, survived quarantine together, and then Brady knew what he wanted to do. On a family trip to the Jersey Shore, Brady popped the question on the beach with his family covertly taking pictures and getting ready to pop the champagne. Little did Brady know, he proposed 8 years to the day of their first kiss (cousin Ben's wedding anniversary). They can't wait to get married, start a family, and grow old together.
