DIA is a 2 hour 15 minute drive time to Vail on I70 through the mountains. Please plan accordingly for traffic and possible severe weather conditions. We recommend renting an AWD or 4WD vehicle due to I70 restrictions during the winter.

The Eagle County Airport is a 30-40 minute drive to Vail. Since it is located West of Vail, the risk of I70 closures due to snow is minimal. There are several rental car companies at this airport, including Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National, and Sixt. We recommend an AWD or 4WD vehicle due to the road conditions during that time of the year.
