After both graduating college in 2013, Alison and George began their first jobs at BNSF Railway in Fort Worth, TX on June 10th, 2013. It was on their first day in a lecture hall with 80 of their peers that George noticed Alison across the room. It wasn't until their first weekend off that they truly met, and although George felt love right away for the Northerner, Alison thought that this Southern boy was simply a nuisance.

After a few convincing conversations, a country concert, and spending 24/7 together in a bubble, Alison was finally convinced George had a Southern charm to him. Several weeks later on July 17th, 2013, George asked Alison on their first real date and the rest is history. When we saw July 17th, 2021 fell on a Saturday, we knew this date was meant to be!

After living more than 1000 miles apart for 6 1/2 years, flying between Kansas City, MO and San Antonio, TX every few weeks, Alison and George (finally) decided it was time to move to the same city. After both finding great new careers, Alison and George moved to Knoxville, TN. As soon as they settled in together, they quickly realized that they were missing adventure in their lives. In February 2020, they adopted Roo, a mini-Sheepadoodle, into their family. If you know anything about Alison and George, you know that they don't go anywhere without her. Roo brings so much joy to everyones life and, to no ones surprise, will be a part of the wedding ceremony in Charleston! Still TBD if she will stand on Alison or George's side :)

Like so many of you, we had big travel plans for 2020 that were quickly halted due to the pandemic. Once Summer came around, we knew we needed at least one beach vacation, and so we headed to Charleston, SC for a long weekend. On Saturday, August 22nd, George ran out to get coffee at 7am to bring back to Alison. Very unusual. Upon his return at 730am, he started ironing a dress shirt. Again, very unusual. And so then we headed to Waterfront Park for a morning walk, where George proposed!

Eight years to the day after the first date, Alison and George will be celebrating their love with marriage!
