We know many of you will be traveling long distances to be in DC for our wedding and we couldn't be more thankful and excited to share our favorite city and home (the real DC, not Washington!) with you. Whether you're flying 6,000 miles or just looking to collect a hefty speeding ticket from one of our many traffic cameras, we hope the southern city with northern charm welcomes you. Below are details about our wedding block at the Washington Plaza Hotel and DC's three major airports. We've also provided details on other nearby hotel options. Transportation to and from the venue will be provided at the Washington Plaza Hotel.

Flight

National Airport (Reagan, if you must...) - DCA

DC has 3 major airports, none of which are actually in DC proper. National Airport (DCA) is by far the most convenient for domestic flights. The Metro is generally the cheapest way in to the city, and the fastest if you arrive during rush hour. You can take the blue line to McPherson Square and arrive just a couple blocks from the hotel. Otherwise, an Uber from DCA to the hotel is is about 15 minutes without traffic.

Flight

Dulles International Airport - IAD

Dulles Airport is a good alternative to National Airport, especially if you are traveling from the west coast or abroad. If you are serious about public transportation, you can take the Silver Line Express bus from the airport to the Wiehle-Reston Metro stop (10 min, $5). From there, take a silver line train to McPherson Square (40 min) to arrive a couple blocks from the hotel. Otherwise, an Uber will generally run $50-70 and the length of time can range dramatically based on time of day.

Flight

Baltimore-Washington Airport - BWI

BWI is a hub for our fellow Southwest fans, but is a bit of trek from DC, given its namesake. You can take a shuttle from the terminal to the MARC (regional train)/Amtrak Station. From there, a 30-40 min train ride on either MARC or Amtrak will take you to DC's Union Station. You can Uber or there is a red line Metro stop at Union Station that you can take to the Metro Center stop about half a mile from the hotel. Alternatively, you can take an Uber from BWI to the hotel for $55-75 that will take about an hour.

If you are coming from anywhere between New York City and Charlottesville, Amtrak is generally the best travel option. All trains arrive in DC at Union Station.
