Our Story
Cole and Alison met in January 2023 in an unexpected way. Alison was visiting her parents in Wellington and needed a place to stay. Her mom reached out to a family friend, Jonathan Popper, who had a room available—though it came with a twist. The room was in a house shared with Jonathan’s son, Cole, someone Alison had never met. With no better option, she moved in!
For the first two weeks, Alison mostly stayed in her room, feeling too awkward to make conversation. But everything shifted quickly. She and Cole began talking, laughing, and watching TV late into the night. It didn’t take long for sparks to fly. The connection was undeniable, and they were officially a couple.
In October 2024, they bought their first home together in Wellington. To celebrate, they hosted a housewarming party on January 31, 2025. But Alison had no idea Cole had something else planned. That night, surrounded by loved ones, Cole got down on one knee and proposed. It was joyful, heartfelt, and unforgettable.
