Our story began in Ithaca back in the summer of 2019. Alison was finishing up research before veterinary school and Alexander was just starting his MBA program at Cornell University. We broke the ice with a game of “Would You Rather” but the question that actually mattered and would set the stage for events to follow was choosing between a cocktail bar and a dive bar. If you know Alison and Alexander at all, you can guess what her pick was (and that Alexander breathed a huge sigh of relief). This choice led to our first date of cocktails at Argos Inn. That night kicked off a year of adventures exploring upstate New York. We spent our weekends hiking gorges, swimming in rivers, drinking at local wineries, and trying many new restaurants. The year was made even better when Alison adopted our dog Jasper in 2020 giving us the perfect companion for our adventures. The next phase of our relationship ran on a lot of love and even more frequent flier miles. We navigated four years of long distance between San Francisco and Ithaca and made sure to maximize every single visit. We used that time to travel internationally, ski as many mountains as possible, and chip away at our goal of visiting every National Park. We are currently at 17 and counting! When we finally closed the distance, Alexander brought things full circle. He took us back to Argos Inn and proposed in the exact spot where it all began. Now we are looking forward to the next chapter. We will be getting married at Westchester Country Club where Alison spent much of her childhood. It feels incredibly special to invite you all to a place that feels like home to celebrate with us. We cannot wait to see you all there!
