We met through Life Church Canton over 10 years ago! Jon was the older, cool and handsome drummer on the worship team and Alison was the adoring (and probably annoying) high school senior. Though they have lived very separate lives, they always managed to bump into each other at church over the years whenever Alison came to town for a visit. In August of 2016, Alison was in town for a wedding and reached out to Jon, who she happened to hear was single. The two met for cocktails at the beloved Sugar House and after hours of chatting, Alison finally confessed her nearly decade long crush on Jon. He was stunned, but was convinced by Alison to consider maybe they could work as a couple. They did the long distance thing for almost a year and Alison made her way back to Michigan in July 2017. A year and a half later, with new career directions and Jon’s house in Ypsilanti purchased, he was ready to ask Alison to be his Mrs!
