Even distance could not stop their stars from crossing. Eric and Alisha met the modern way: swiping right on Tinder. "Wow, she's beautiful and has a penchant for chicken nuggets" Eric thought as he looked at Alisha's photos and read her bio. "He has a great beard" ran through Alisha's head as she skimmed through his profile. After matching, their relationship began when Eric asked her a simple question, "Regular or spicy chicken nuggets?" The resulting conversation born of that question lead into them scheduling a picnic as a first date. A connection was formed immediately. Sharing a wonderful meal and talking well into the evening hours, they said their goodbyes knowing that there would be a second date. They did not realize they would see each other much sooner than expected. Five minutes after she had departed, Eric called Alisha asking her to come back and help him jump his car's dead battery.

Eric has always had a passion for crosswords. He wanted to share that passion with Alisha, who would rebuff participating due to her claims of being the world's worst crossword solver. To ensure she felt included, Eric devised a custom crossword tailored specifically to things Alisha was an expert on; Brooklyn 99, 90 Day Fiancé, horror movies, and inside jokes that she and Eric shared. Solving the crossword revealed a second puzzle: "We are getting engaged on _____. Fill in the blanks using letters from each crossword answer." After cleverly filling in the answer "June 5th", she turned around to see Eric on his knee popping the question. The day was June 4th. We are so excited to celebrate our love with all of you!
