It all started in Cancun.. As some of you may know, we met through Bryce and Jason years ago in 2016 or 2017. We were both in relationships at the time of the first meeting but years later in 2022, we were in the right place at the right time. So boom, I was lowkey talking to someone but didn't really want to be. One day a group of friends were on a facetime call celebrating Derrick's promotion at work. During that call, me and my girls were texting on the side because we were talking about how Derrick was now available after his relationship ended. So my interest was DEFINITELY peaked. Later on we were discussing Bryce's birthday trip to Cancun that was coming up. We were figuring out room situations and decided it would be cheaper if we roomed together. So I, being the considerate person that I am, agreed to room with Derrick. Whole time I knew EXACTLY what my intentions were but he was none the wiser. We went on the trip to Cancun and had the best time! I was still in a situation and I had every intention of not speaking to him again until the next event. When I left Cancun, I quite literally could not imagine not speaking to this man again. I think I got back from Cancun on a Tuesday and by that Saturday, I was very sure and I ended the situation I was in. From the time Derrick arrived in Cancun, I've been all in. Bagged and Tagged. I say it all started in Cancun but it was really before then. It was destiny from the very first moment we met, whether we knew it or not.
When we first met my initial thought of her was that… she was mean. Besides that whenever she was around she was a fun person to be around, you could count on that. Years later we made a connection in Cancun she offered her room to save money, although I knew what her intentions were with offering to share a room with me. I knew I had the right bait. Cast my line. get my beer and sit in my chair. It was a waiting game from there. I was able to be myself around her. We enjoyed each others company. The short amount of time that we did spend together was enough to hold on to. When we left, I didn’t think we would have talked again… We called and text each other more than we ever had holding on and dragging out conversations until we were able to see each other again.
