While Jake doesn't think dating apps work, it was a dating app, Hinge, that introduced Alise to him. Their first date was at a little coffee shop in Kent. Alise surprised Jake with some salted chocolate caramels. Jake knew she was the one from that very first moment. He texted his friends that he was getting married! Yet they weren't officially a couple until the craziest third date. On August 30th, Alise thought the date was starting at Chapel Hill Mall, and Jake thought it was at Chagrin Falls Mall. To this date, there is a disagreement as to who was wrong. While Jake rushed down to Chapel Hill, Alise tried to fill the time. The mall was deserted besides a creepy guy riding a mall animal who was hitting on her, a rogue bat flying around, and the clerk at the party store. Alise wanted to go somewhere else, but unfortunately, she locked the keys in her car. Alise was in an endless waiting game for both Jake and her dad to unlock the car. Both arrived at the same time. What a way to meet the dad! Jake and Alise decided to drive separately over to the park. When Jake got there, Alise was nowhere to be found. He was sure she had ditched him, and he was completely understanding if she did. Fortunately, she was just a few minutes behind. When Alise gave Jake the most delectable chocolate chip cheesecakes as a suprised, he knew he could not let her go. He asked her to be his girlfriend that very night. As the months grew on, Jake knew more and more that Alise was his person: the one he could not live without, the one who made his heart feel complete. He knew he needed to ask her to marry him. He searched and searched for the perfect ring. He even used some of Alise's drawings as inspiration. With the ring purchased, he needed a plan. Many ideas swirled through his brain, but with the Van Gogh Exhibit coming soon, he saw an opportunity. Van Gogh is Alise's favorite artist. She loves Starry Night. After experiencing the beautiful art, Jake bent down on one knee and proposed Alise. The moment was even more beautiful than the art around them. Alise could barely contain her happiness and practically answered Jake before he finished asking. He was everything she could ever want. Now you will be joining them for that wonderful day when they can officially be husband and wife. It will be a day to remember, full of fun, joy, friends, and family.
