Alisa is from Vietnam and for a while her urge to see the world drew her to an office in the sky as a flight attendant. Her presence was all over the world, but like the planes she boarded, she was never anywhere for very long. Tony is from Taiwan but spent most of his professional life working in the San Francisco Bay Area racking up significant mileage visiting and managing suppliers from different parts of the world. On a fateful day in November 2018, Alisa’s routine layover in SFO brought us together and we quickly discovered that, in contrast to our other dates, our frequent travel was a bonus and not a liability. Over the next year and a half we built our relationship around the world, excited to have found companionship from Havana to Danang and everywhere in between. Then COVID changed everything for us in 2020. We suddenly found ourselves 10,000 kilometers and 15 time zones apart for the foreseeable future. We would try and fail to physically meet for 800 days. The time and distance helped us learn about each other without the novelty of traveling to a new place. We learned about the future we wanted together and after deciding that forever was our next step, we put in place a plan to make it a reality. Thank you for playing a part in our journey as individuals and as a couple. We can’t wait to share our special day with you this December.
