In the fall of 2020, after spending a lot of time at home doing nothing, Aline was spending some time swiping on an app with bees. She read a guy's profile and it made her laugh. Then she thought, "I think he went to Norfolk High." She swiped right and to her surprise, it was a match! Clint and Aline talked on the app for a few days before moving to texting and then he asked her on a date. Their first date was Labor Day. He picked her up, like the gentleman he is, and brought her to Mel's for a few drinks. After, he wanted to take her to eat, but many restaurants were closed for the holiday. He drove around town for a little while before heading out to the Sand Bar and had many laughs over food and more drinks. After the first date, Aline spent many evenings hanging out at his house, watching movies or football games. Clint's coworkers started "stalking" his house to see if the 'smart car' was there. Even when Aline tried to hide by parking in the alley, they would drive through the alley to send a Snapchat to the group. Even with the relentless friends and coworkers, Aline stuck around and thus began their love story.
When discussions of the future began, Aline told Clint that she wanted her proposal to include 3 things: 1. Her nails were painted. 2. She looked nice. 3. Someone would be there to take pictures. Clint had scheduled Woeppel family pictures in March. Aline considered that it could be a possibility for an engagement and pictures and took the effort to have her nails done and pick a nice dress for the occasion. While getting ready, Clint suggested a more casual look and so Aline scrambled to find a new outfit. Finally, they headed to Ta-ha-Zouka park for pictures. After finishing all of the individual family pictures and group shots, the photographer asked the women for one final shot. We all lined up and walked together. Then we were told to stop and look at someone next to us. We all complied and thought nothing of it. Then, all of a sudden, Aline heard a voice behind her say, "Hey, will you marry me?" She turned and the picture below says it all. She was indeed very surprised but after laughing and crying, she said, "YES!"
