Things To Do

Below are some of our recommendations for places to eat and things to do near Woodlawn Farm. The first set of recommendations are places to have dinner on Friday Night, as dinner will not be served at the Welcome Party (which starts at 8 PM). But please leave room for dessert! The second set of recommendations are things to do on Saturday before the wedding - there are a lot of interesting American History sites in the area!
SALT Waterfront Kitchen

SALT Waterfront Kitchen

16244 Millers Wharf Road, Ridge, MD 20680

A waterfront restaurant with seating that overlooks the Potomac River. It has a variety of options and, as an added benefit, is very close to the welcome party location!

Courtney's Seafood Restaurant

48290 Wynne Road, Ridge, MD 20680

A family-owned and operated seafood restaurant serving fresh crab and rockfish caught daily in the Chesapeake Bay. While we haven't had a chance to try this restaurant ourselves, we've been told that it's a great place to experience local Maryland seafood at a hole-in-the-wall. It's also very close to the welcome party venue!

Pier450 - POV Restaurant

48342 Wynne Road, Ridge, MD 20680

This is the location of the welcome party - can't get any closer than that! Serving American fare with an international twist, they source ingredients from local farms or their on-site garden. We love the crab balls and hush puppies--Southern Maryland classics!

Restaurants in nearby Lexington Park

Those staying at the hotel in Lexington Park have plenty of restaurants to choose from!

Calvert Cliffs State Park

Calvert Cliffs State Park

10540 H G Trueman Road, Lusby, MD 20657

We had a great hike here through the woods and down to the beach!

Point Lookout State Park

11175 Point Lookout Road, Scotland, MD 20687

This state park at the southern tip of the peninsula has a light house and a number of points of interest from the Civil War.

Historic St. Mary's City

18751 Hogaboom Lane, Saint Marys City, MD 20686

St. Mary's was the first European settlement in Maryland, and the 4th British settlement in America.

Patuxent River Naval Air Museum

22156 Three Notch Road, Lexington Park, MD 20653

We haven't been here ourselves, but if you want to access full dad-mode, we recommend giving the Naval Air Museum a try - it's very close to the hotel in Lexington Park.
