Peyton worked at Chick-Fil-A for about 2 months. The day that my director hired Peyton, she found me and said "I just hired your future husband!" I thought she was crazy and said "yeah right!" While Peyton worked there, we never spoke to each other and rarely saw each other (he worked nights and I worked days.) One night after he turned in his two weeks, Peyton saw me at the softball fields and he approached me while I was in the dugout and we had our first conversation. The next day came and I went about my normal work day. The moment I went on break, Peyton potter walked through the doors. He ordered his breakfast and ask if he could join me. At the end of my 30 minutes we had exchanged phone numbers and planned to hangout soon.
They had a family Christmas party to attend on Saturday evening. After Alina got home from work, Peyton drove to her house to pick her up. They had to journey back to Nanny's house to meet up with his family before heading to the party. Peyton shared that the garage door was broken, so they would have to enter around back. As they walked along the sidewalk to the back porch, there was a bible set up along the walkway. Peyton asked Alina to read what the bible said. She read the words highlighted in bright yellow... "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres." 1 Corinthians 13: 4-7 Alina's mind and heart started to race as her whole being filled with love. Peyton guided her around to the back porch where a board was set up. On this board was pictures of them surrounded by lights. In the center of the lights and pictures were the words "Will You Marry Me?" As Alina turned around to find Peyton, she discovered that he was down on one knee with the sweetest smile. In that moment, Alina's mind never even thought about looking down at the ring, she was so caught up in the moment of her forever friend asking her to be his wife. Once Alina realized that she wasn't dreaming, she removed her hands from her face, said yes, and received the greatest hug she has ever felt.
