Alina's younger bro / bestie since she was 14 months old! He also happens to be the best human she knows; a man of integrity and an example to Alina. His golden heart and unique mind are what led him to spend two years serving in the Peace Corps in Mozambique. From "The Nature Club" to math homework to the summit of Kilimanjaro, Damai has been by Alina's side supporting her through every step of life. And her wedding day will be no different. :)
Travis "Travisimo" Macks

Joel's older brother whom he followed across the country when he was 19 just to be able to still surf with him! Travis may call Joel a "foo" and talk smack on the golf course, but at the end of the day, he shows up for him and Joel knows how much he cares. Joel admires Travis' wit, persistence, and bold approach to life; he always follows his passions and Joel has loved seeing them manifest through Travis' company, The Surfboard Collective, a local favorite.
Paige *ButterflyButt* Smith
Matron of Honor
Alina's beautiful-souled bestie since 9th grade drama class who's witnessed way more of her dramatic antics outside the classroom than inside it ;) yet always made her feel so seen and entirely lovable. Paige is clever, uplifting, powerful, + every other positive adjective in the dictionary (of which she knows all of due to her outstanding talent as a professional writer). Paige won "Best All Around" senior year and it's quite apparent why - she simply is the best.
Emily "Embolee" Speed
Best Woman
Joel's younger, stronger, tougher sister who shares his 12-year-old sense of humor and love of fitness. Emily cracks Joel up harder than anyone and he deeply admires her pursuit of growth and ability to bravely create change in her life. She's a talented entrepreneur with her new company, The Ohm, she's a wonderful wife and mother to two of the sweetest boys, and she's a sister whom Joel can talk to about anything and whose wisdom is greatly valued.
Tristan *T-Dawg* Ray

Alina's youngest bro with an *egregiousss* vocabulary ;) Despite reluctantly getting makeovers every time her parents were in the other room, he still called her "Sissy" and let her read “Harry Potter” and “Calvin & Hobbes” to him before bed, which are some of her most cherished memories. Now he’s a hot shot Humboldt graduate who’s saving the Earth one California native plant at a time. Alina couldn’t be more proud of the man he's grown into. :)

Joel's buddy since 9th grade homeroom class. From basketball and video games, to camping, canoeing, and being crazy kids running around the neighborhood, Sam was always the one Joel called after school to hang out with. Joel's always appreciated Sam's easy-going nature, witty sense of humor, and work ethic (he was the first out of all of their friend group to get a job!). He now loves seeing Sam happy as a husband and living a fearlessly-outdoorsy life in Colorado!
Shelby *Shelbanator* Busse

Alina's hilarious and huge-hearted friend from 9th grade who not only gave her the infamous nickname, "A-Dawg," and taught her how to twerk in the bathroom during drama class, but who also raised tens of thousands for the Make-A-Wish Foundation in high school and, today, continues serving others through her health coaching and healing presence. How lucky Alina feels to have a friend whom she so deeply admires and so deeply belly laughs with!
Bryce Young

Bryce is considered an absolute legend in the surfing world, but his greater legacy will be the kind of friend he is - Bryce is positive, uplifting, genuine, thoughtful, and true. He's always been someone Joel could count on since meeting in O-Side, despite living in Australia. Joel admires how Bryce has stayed true to the essence of surfing by living a life of freedom and presence, which he showcased in his epic and timeless new surf film, "Following the Fall Line"!
Serena *Lil Mermaid* Lomonico

Alina's sweet-as-honey, fish-saving amigita / fellow mermaid from high school, marine ecology Baja field study trips, and beyond! Serena has the unique gift of making you feel that you are all that matters in the world when you're in her presence; her big bright blue peepers give you their pure undivided attention as she speaks to you with genuine curiosity and care:) There's a reason this babe won "Most Friendly" our senior year!
Pat "P.A.T." Barreiro

After getting paired with this hilarious guy for a group project in their Oceanography class at MCC, Joel was stoked that his first O-Side friend was someone he could surf and golf with. Despite always messing with him, Pat is a loyal friend who's always been there for him. Joel calls Pat as often as he calls Alina, just to say "ughhhh" and joke about how they played during their round. Pat is hard-working, goofy as heck, competitive, fun, and an amazing family man.
Kassie *Sassy Kassie* Rosales

Alina's ever-playful and always growth-motivated Pi Phi sorority sister. From USC to UCB to encouraging Alina to get her PhD, Kassie has been the authentic, supportive, engaging, and honest friend whom Alina could always count on to intellectually explore-and ramble-with and push her to her fullest potential. This bombshell’s open mind is just as beautiful as her made-for-Hollywood face, and that’s definitely saying something!

Joel's bro-in-law who's taken care of his sister's heart for the last 16 years and been a great friend to Joel. Woody's always been a stand-up guy; as a former Eagle Scout, his dedication and care for the environment is clear. But Joel is extra inspired by his growth-mindset and the changes he's embodied to become an incredible father; Woody took to health + fitness and followed his passion by becoming the author of the awesome book series, "The Lost Republic"!

Alina's ultra-caring USC Pi Phi sorority sister and - she won't like this - her Miranda-from-Sex-and-the-City-friend! ;) We all need that grounded powerhouse woman in our life who actually shows up for you and holds you to your highest self while also loving you for exactly who you are. Jenny is kind-hearted, smart, generous, thoughtful, and can bake delicious macaroons while absolutely rocking a pantsuit. She is Alina’s adult goals.

Joel's buddy from the Little Flower Middle School 6th grade basketball team. Brian shared Joel's love of fitness and was part of his high school crew, but was the *semi* good influence that didn't get into the antics that he and the rest of the crew did. Brian's always been a genuinely good guy - a happy-go-lucky, thoughtful, and witty whippersnapper whom Joel feels grateful to have stayed in touch with through all these years, despite living across the country.

Alina's younger sister-from-another-mister! Bexter came into her life when Alina was 16 and they bonded for life over oatmeal hair masks, a love of dance and the arts, and the downfall of the patriarchy! ;) Alina feels so lucky to have such an empathetic, nurturing, talented, creative, and sweet sister as Bexter in her life; they've shared so many fun family memories and Alina can’t wait to share a lifetime more of memories and milestones together!

Introduced through Alina and her homegirl, Shelby, Scott and Joel became a bromance for the ages! Having a similar steady temperament and a fun competitive nature, Joel has a blast being pushed by him on the golf course; it's rare that someone can actually beat Joel ;) but Scott is definitely one of those people and Joel loves a challenge. Scott is a loyal and generous friend, great husband and dog dad, and someone Joel can talk to about anything.

From being labeled an "annoying showoff" in Sara's 6th grade diary to practically living at her house every summer from then on, to being MOH in her wedding and babysitting her adorable kids, Alina and Sara sure have come far. ;) Fortunately, Sara loved Alina despite her initial impression so Alina got to experience Sara’s fierce devotion, silliness, growth-orientation, and the experience of having her first sister. :)

Joel met Kyle through Alina and her MOH, Paige; to their delight, it was bromance-at-first-sight! Both even-keeled Virgos, they bonded over surf-love + enjoyed hilarious rounds of golf together. Joel admires Kyle's outgoing charisma, story-telling talent, and humor, along with his rebellion against stereotypes through showing care and authenticity as a man. The way Kyle parents is also an example to Joel, who hopes he can be as great of a dad as him one day!
