We actually met years ago through a mutual coworker/friend (shoutout to Jay!), but at the time, life had us both in completely different places. As much as there may have been potential, the timing just wasn’t right—so we went our separate ways. Fast forward about five years later, we reconnected on social media. But if you know me, you know I can be a little stubborn (Taurus energy!), and I wasn’t exactly rushing to make plans. I was enjoying my single life and keeping things pretty low-key. Then, a few months later, life stepped in. I randomly ran into Jay and Kodjovi at Fat Tuesdays on Mill Ave—which is funny, because I always said I don’t be outside… yet there I was, very much outside! We kept things cool, said our hellos, and went about our night. The very next day, Kodjovi reached out and we set arrangements with one another. And take a guess where we went for our first real hangout? Yep—right back to Fat Tuesdays! From there, everything just clicked. We spent more time together, became best friends, and before we knew it, we were building something real. That friendship turned into a relationship, and that relationship turned into a home. About a year and a half later, on the very night we moved into our new home, he completely surprised me with the most beautiful proposal I could have ever imagined—surrounded by our closest family and friends. (And let’s just say, I’m very glad he didn’t choose Tempe Town Lake! 😂) Now, we can’t wait to celebrate our big day with all of our favorite people as we begin this next chapter together as husband and wife.
