Hotel
This is where both the ceremony and reception will take place. From our experience traveling to the Dominican Republic, Expedia is a great option for booking, as you can bundle flights and accommodations, which is often more cost-effective. At the moment, flights have not yet been released on Expedia, so you may need to wait and keep an eye on pricing as they become available, you may also book the hotel room now and buy flights separately later on, completely up to you! With that said, there’s no need to rush your booking since the date is still some time away. However, we do recommend not waiting until the last minute, as room availability may become limited. Please note that the airport in the Dominican Republic is partially open-air, so we recommend dressing accordingly for warm weather. Also, things tend to move at a more relaxed “island time” pace, so we kindly ask for your patience while traveling through the airport. Tipping is a common and appreciated part of the culture in the Dominican Republic. While gratuities are included at our all-inclusive resort, many staff members rely on tips as part of their income. We recommend bringing small bills if you’d like to show appreciation for great service.
Travel Note
Please make sure your passport meets all travel requirements before your trip. Many countries require that your passport be valid for at least six months beyond your planned return date. You should also have at least 2–4 blank pages available for stamps, and your passport must be in good condition, as damaged passports may be denied. It’s also important to check visa requirements through the U.S. Department of State website or your destination country’s embassy before travel. Be sure that the name on your passport exactly matches your airline tickets, and consider bringing a physical copy of your passport as well as a photo saved on your phone in case of emergencies. Lastly, if your passport is set to expire within six months of your trip, we strongly recommend renewing it as soon as possible, as processing times can be lengthy.
