Our story begins somewhere between a Phish show and very questionable decision-making. We met on a cold November night during the Providence Phish run. Though we were strangers brought together by mutual friends, we spent the next two nights sitting next to each other at the shows, singing and dancing all night to our favorite band. After that weekend, we parted ways but stayed in touch, texting nearly 24/7. At the time, Max was living in Burlington, Vermont, and Alicia was living in Stonington, Connecticut, and neither of us could have guessed what this chance encounter would become. A few weeks later, we decided to meet up again for our first official date at a Dopapod show in Boston, which felt like a strong indicator that this relationship was either very right or very doomed… thankfully, it was the former. Then COVID happened. The world shut down, Alicia was laid off, and distance suddenly mattered a lot less. Max started driving down to Connecticut every weekend to spend time together. Alicia had her own apartment; Max had two roommates — the choice was easy. Weekend after weekend, we had the time to get to know one another without distractions and build something together. About a year and a half after we met, we took the next step and made Middletown, Connecticut, our first home together. A year later, we moved to West Hartford, where we spent the next two years settling into life side by side. On November 28, 2023, four years after we met, Max proposed to Alicia in our apartment after a date night celebrating our meeting. While writing this, we realized we actually met on the 29th. LOL. Anyway, Alicia said YES! A year later, we moved back to Southeastern Connecticut to plant our roots. In 2025, we were busy! We bought a house, adopted two cats, Yzma and Yuki, and a mini dachshund named Mango. Now we’re finally ready to get married — and we’re doing it where it all began: following the music to Las Vegas for the Phish run at the Sphere!
