We met in the early summer of 2015. Not looking for a relationship or even new friends at the time, I was working at the Kauffman Cancer Center - infusion clinic where I worked with Pauls Mother Janet. As we all know Mrs. Janet loves her son very much and he was almost always the topic of conversation when we wanted to talk about something other than work. Paul was racing Go- Karts at the time and we would always talk about the next big race coming up. Little did I know that world would become mine too. Mrs Janet introduced us when Paul came by work one day. Shortly after we met, Paul asked his mom for my phone number. After messaging back and forth Paul asked me out on a date and its been true love ever since!
In the comfort of our own home, with my two best friends, I said YES! For many people, a proposal may look like your favorite place to go as a couple, or maybe a big party, or even a holiday surprise. In the middle of a worldwide pandemic and the quarantine guidelines Paul had another idea in mind. Saturday June 20, 2020, the day we first met 5 years prior Paul went to work like it was any other day. I went off to get a facial done before going into work later that evening. Paul came home from work with 3 dozen roses with the plan to have them and cook dinner followed by the perfect proposal in the comfort of our home. Anyone who knows me knows that I am forgetful and often late to just about everything. I was supposed to go from my facial right to work but forgot my work clothes at home and had to stop by to change. Paul had just gotten home with the flowers and I walked in the door. Paul proposed with our puppy Ivory, and I said YES!
