Are kids welcome?

Answer

We love and adore your children but in order to allow all guests to relax and enjoy themselves, we have chosen to make our special day an Adults Only affair! We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the little ones at home so that you can celebrate with us!

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP by July 1st, 2021.

Can I bring a guest or a plus 1?

Answer

Your RSVP will indicate how many seats/plates are reserved for you! If only 1 spot has been reserved for you, please do not bring a guest. Due to space and budget, everyone will not be able to bring a guest or a "plus one". This is a grand yet intimate affair we want to ensure that you are comfortable and have an amazing night! Please note, the guest list will be strictly adhered to.

What should I wear? Is there a dress code?

Answer

YES, there is a dress code!!! Our event is a formal affair and is inspired by the Ivorian culture. Please wear formal attire to include dresses/gowns for women and suits or tux's for men or Ivorian inspired attired! No jeans or tennis shoes please. We want to see you in your best!

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Doors to the ceremony will open at 5:00pm. Please arrive, and be seated, no later than 5:45pm as the ceremony will begin promptly at 6:00pm! If you arrive late, you will not be admitted into the ceremony after it begins!

Is the ceremony and reception in the same place?

Answer

Yes! The ceremony and reception will both be held at Astoria Banquets starting at 6:00 PM sharp!

Will the ceremony/reception be held inside or outside?

Answer

The ceremony and reception will be held indoors! Cocktail hour will also be held indoors.

Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media?

Answer

Our Ceremony will be "UNPLUGGED" meaning that we will ask that all guests silence and put away phones, cameras, and all electronic devices in order to be present and in the moment with us as we take our vows before God and all of our friends and family! We have a team of the BEST photographers and videographers to capture our wedding and promise to share photos! Please do not take photos, record videos, or go live before we are announced as Mr. and Mrs!! However, after we are announced as Mr. and Mrs., snap and post away!!!! We highly encourage guests to take and post pictures onto their social media channels & tag each photo with our wedding hashtag #ShineBrightLikeADiomande so we can keep track of all of your beautiful pictures!

Where is the couple registered?

We are incredibly humbled and blessed to have everything we need to start our new lives together, we've created a Honeymoon Registry! We would love for you to help us create timeless memories and enjoy our honeymoon trip back home to Ivory Coast! Please visit the Honeymoon Registry tab!

Have you reserved hotel room blocks?

Answer

Yes! We have reserved a room block at the host hotel, Courtyard by Marriott Chicago Deerfield! See the Accommodations tab for more details on the hotel and instructions on booking.

What if I have food/dietary restrictions?

We want you to enjoy every bite of your meal so please note any food allergies/dietary restrictions when you RSVP!

What are some safety measures being put in place in light of COVID-19?

Answer

Our guests' health is of upmost importance to us and we can't wait to safely celebrate with you all! To ensure our guests' safety, we have verified the additional safety measures our venue is taking and will be abiding by all state and local safety precautions. All guests will be required to sanitize their hands before entering into the ceremony. All guests will also be required to wash their hands before entry into the reception! Hand sanitizer will be readily available at all times! IF YOU OR ANYONE IN YOUR HOUSEHOLD IS SICK OR EXPERIENCING ANY SYMPTOMS PLEASE STAY HOME!!

Will alcoholics beverages be served?

Answer

YES! There will be an open bar! There will also be a selection of drinks during the cocktail hour!
