The Salzbach + Vesce Love Story began sixteen years ago at Paramus Catholic High School. It was in Sr. Ekwonye's Honors Biology class where the two met as Freshman. Mark was the guy in the back of the classroom with his Justin Bieber hair do, throwing pencils at the ceiling. You already know, Alicia was front and center with her highlighters and post its lined up at the top of her desk. Oh, and don't forget, she had crunchy hair... It couldn't be any more of an "opposites attract" story. Alicia & Mark attended Junior Prom together but continued on as friends into their PC'07 year. Alicia went on to live the Terrapin dream, while Mark spent his free weekends with his best friends as an honorary Blue Hen. There was often only 95 miles in between them, but not enough to rekindle the flame. It wasn't until the two crossed paths again at the Garden State Plaza in 2012, that they truly fell in love. Alicia traded in her pom poms for Michael Kors handbags and brought Mark along for the ride. It was about time Mark gave up his #GuessTillClose lifestyle... The pair's love story grew stronger over 5 years time as they moved to Jersey City to start their next chapter.
The Journey to Jersey City was the perfect next chapter for Alicia & Mark. They moved to Liberty Harbor in the winter of 2017. It was everything they were looking for as their first apartment together. Although, Alicia will never admit that Mark was the one who found it... Mark curated a day full of surprises when it came to the proposal. Alicia came home from work on Labor Day Weekend to an observatory full of close friends & family. A day that she thought was a simple barbecue, became one of the best memories of her life. Everyone was silent awaiting the big moment. An aisle of rose petals and faint string music, led Alicia down a path to Mark. Guests taking it all in as the surprise overwhelmed Alicia with emotion. Mark held back tears as he expressed his love. And with a subtle mention of crunchy hair, he got down on one knee to pop the question. With Lady Liberty watching at a distance... Alicia said, "yes! of course, yes." And here we go ♥
