Our story began on July 1, 2018. Alicia, who lived in Charleston, SC was visiting her sister, Jenny, in Denver. We were having a BBQ and Jay came over with his brother, Jeremy, who also happens to be Jenny's long time best friend. We quickly gravitated towards each other and after many laughs and drinks we made plans to spend the next day hiking together. Waking up hungover, Alicia did not expect to actually go until Jay texted asking what she wanted from Starbucks because he was on his way over. Jay said we were doing an "easy" hike but after struggling up the flat irons in 90 degree heat, being hungover and adjusting to altitude, Alicia thought she would be lucky to see the end of the hike let alone ever seeing Jay again. We finished the hike and got a much deserved cold beer and ended up spending the entire day/night together until we realized we both had to be up in 5 hours for Alicia to catch a flight and Jay to go fight fires. Despite the 1,700 miles between us, not a day went by from the day we met that we did not talk. We managed to see each other at least once a month while we were long distance and in January 2019, Alicia traded the beach for the mountains and moved to Colorado to live with Jay. We now live in Fort Collins with our 2 (crazy) dogs and couldn't be more excited to spend this life together!
