Delight yourselves in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.” — Psalm 37:4 Jack had been praying for his future wife ever since he was a little kid. He prayed for a nice Christian girl. A simple prayer—but in many ways it was a limited prayer, and God knew this. God knew what Jack needed better than Jack himself, and He gave Jack the desires of his heart. God not only answered Jack’s prayer for a nice Christian girl, but He exceeded it by blessing him with the most beautiful girl in the world. A girl who is hilarious and has the best laugh. A girl who gives the most thoughtful gifts and who listens in the most caring way. A girl who is wildly fun and loves life. A girl who loves God and wants to continue growing closer to Him. Jack met Alicia on November 10, 2023, when she walked into his packed kitchen during a house party. Jack thought she was lovely and instantly had a crush on her. He introduced himself, and Alicia told him her name—which he immediately forgot because he was distracted by her eyes, which he thought were the prettiest he had ever seen. Alicia remembers meeting Jack and thinking he was cute and very smiley. She noticed pretty quickly that he kept trying to talk to her throughout the night. At one point, everyone was hanging outside in a group and it got quiet for a moment when Jack suddenly said, “Alicia, what’s your go to karaoke song?” He kept calling her out like that, which made it clear he was trying to get her attention. Over the next couple of months, Jack and Alicia got to know each other as friends. They went to Bible study together, went out to eat together, and started working out together. On May 14, 2024, Jack and Alicia started dating. They were a perfect match. On their two-month anniversary they joked that it felt more like a two-year anniversary—that somehow it seemed like they had known each other forever. And in a way, maybe they had. After all, Jack had been praying for Alicia since he was little — and since God gives us the desires of our hearts, it seems incredibly fitting that Alicia had been in Jack’s heart long before he ever met her. Alicia often says that before meeting Jack she would always say she just wanted to truly be loved and happy. When she met Jack, she found all of that—and ten million times more. She quickly saw in him the kind of man she had always wanted to be with, someone faithful, supportive, joyful, and a true best friend. Being with Jack has shown her what true unconditional love is and that God gave her the desires of her heart. Jack and Alicia are incredibly thankful that God, in His kindness, brought them together in His perfect timing. Jack and Alicia love spending quality time together—traveling, going on fun dates, working out and cooking dinner together. They always find the fun in any circumstance and are constantly looking out for one another and supporting each other. Jack and Alicia can’t wait to be married, to continue growing closer to each other, and to God. And as they begin this new chapter of life, they are incredibly grateful that God truly gave them the desires of their hearts.
