We met playing in a volleyball league at Woody's Press Box. We played on separate teams, talked to each other every chance we got, and hung out after games with our volleyball community. Luckily, Dave had some pretty amazing friends who noticed some mutual interest, and started inviting Alicia around more often. The rest is history :)

Dave asked Alicia's sister Melanie to get Alicia to Millennium Park under the guise that she needed help getting her kids to smile for family pictures. This happened to be the park where Dave and Alicia had their first date, but Alicia wasn't too suspicious since that is where family photos had been taken a few years prior. When they arrived, the kids were there waiting, as well as Alicia's other three nieces, even the one who lives in Colorado! Each of the nieces and nephews were holding flowers and wearing one of their t-shirts, each representing something special to Dave and Alicia. Then Dave said a lot of very sweet things (most of which Alicia may or may not remember because she was crying). He got down on one knee, and with a little help from the kids, asked, “Will you marry Uncle Dave?” The answer was without a doubt, yes!!
