Things To Do

Here are some of our favorite places near the hotels and venue. If you're making a weekend out of DC and want to see everything the city has to offer, please let us know and we'll email you our full list of recommendations! (we have quite a few..)
Emissary x Pergamino

Emissary x Pergamino

1726 20th Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20009

While there are many great coffee spots in Dupont Circle, this one is particularly adorable and cozy, tucked away on a quiet side street with outdoor seating and delicious brews. They also have a bigger location on P St NW.

Kramers + All Day by Kramers

Kramers + All Day by Kramers

1530 19th Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20036
, (202) 387-3825

One part bookstore, one part cafe, this is a great place to stop if you want browse for a new read or sit down for a casual breakfast or lunch. The bookstore’s entrance is in the front, where you can pick up the latest must-read in politics, history, and more, as well as DC memorabilia. The cafe’s entrance is in the back of the building on 19th St. NW, featuring a great patio and additional streetery seating.

Bagels Etc.

Bagels Etc.

2122 P Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20037
, (202) 466-7171

Coming from the New Jerseyan in the couple, DC tends to struggle when it comes to good bagels, however if you are looking for a quick bite before heading off to the monuments or the museums, Bagels Etc. will do you well. It’s a cute spot with nice staff where you can pick up a hefty bagel sandwich before a day on the town. Cash only!!!

Compliments Only

Compliments Only

2029 P St. NW, Washington, DC 20036
, (202) 794-4638

We are serious sandwich people and our favorite sub spot in the area is Compliments Only. They make giant cold and hot subs that you can take to-go or eat on site, perfect for lunch any day that you are here! Alicia’s fav is the CrunchyBoi and Jeff’s is the Teamster. (All subs are also available on shredduce)

Dinner + Drinks

Dinner + Drinks

17th St NW & Q St NW,

If you are looking for a good dinner in the DuPont area, or even just a cocktail or cold beer after a long day of touristing, you can head over to 17th St NW between R and P St NW to find restaurant after restaurant of every variety you could want. Tons of patio seating and happy hour deals can be found here, with our personal favorites being Dukes Grocery for great burgers, Hanks Oyster Bar for seafood, Annie's Steak House for a little bit of everything , and Floriana for more upscale Italian fare.

The Phillips Collection

The Phillips Collection

1600 21st Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20009
, (202) 387-2151

If you’ve already seen the Smithsonians or just want to stick to the Dupont Circle area, we highly recommend checking out “America’s First Museum of Modern Art.” Features over 5,000 works that includes pieces by Monet, Van Gogh, Renoir, and more in a beautiful townhouse near Embassy Row. One of our favorites!

Surfside Taco Stand

Surfside Taco Stand

1800 N Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20036
, (202) 466-1830

If you find yourself out and about late in Dupont and are looking for a midnight snack, head over to Surfside, which is open 24 hours. They serve tacos, burritos, quesadillas and more which will really hit the spot before you call it a night.

For all the days along the way
