Things To Do

Ala Moana

1450 Ala Moana Boulevard, Honolulu, HI 96814

If you're in the mood for some shopping, visit Ala Moana, Hawaii's largest outdoor mall.

Kakaʻako

Honolulu, HI

Kakaʻako is a hip area known for its vibrant food scene. Juice bars and casual eateries serving craft beer and Hawaiian farm fare fill the SALT complex, while the Kakaʻako Farmers’ Market sells coconuts and local coffee. Kakaʻako Waterfront Park’s grassy expanses are popular for picnics, and paddleboarders take to the water at Ala Moana Beach Park. The nearby Ala Moana Center has department stores and fashion chains.

Koko Crater Railway Trailhead

7604 Koko Head Park Road, Honolulu, HI 96825

Looking for a hike? Koko Head Trail is a popular stairs-filled hike. Visit early in the morning to see the sunrise!

Pali Puka Trailhead

Kaneohe, HI 96744

Pali Puka Trail is an easy-to-moderate hike along the narrow ridgeline of the Ko’olau Mountains. High winds and sheer vertical drops make this short hike an exciting trip! The panoramic vistas provided by this exposed trail are incredible, offering breathtaking views of O’ahu’s windward coast, from Kailua and Kane’ohe all the way to Kualoa. Parking at the Pali Lookout is free for HI residents (with ID) and $3 per car for non-residents. Head towards Pali Lookout off of the Pali Highway (Highway 61). Google Maps will suggest "Parking for Nu'uanu Pali Lookout Trailhead." Park in the lot, then proceed to the far side of the parking area where the buses are. If facing the lookout, this area will be on the left. Look for a small notch in the rock wall – this is the start of the trail.

Na Ala Hele: Manoa Falls Trail

Na Ala Hele: Manoa Falls Trail, Honolulu, HI 96822

https://www.yelp.com/biz/manoa-falls-trail-honolulu-2?osq=manoa+falls If a waterfall hike is on your Hawaii to-do list, hike the Manoa Falls Trail. It's a relatively short hike, around 1 - 1.5 hrs. The trail can get pretty muddy, so wear shoes you don't mind dirtying and bring extra clothes and shoes to change into after the hike. At the waterfall, you can swim and go into the water, so we suggest you wear your swimsuit. Since the trail is in a forest and near water, expect mosquitos and bring bug spray. Be sure to check the weather before going. If it will rain, we recommend rescheduling the hike for a sunnier day.

Giovanni's Shrimp Truck

56-505 Kamehameha Hwy, Kahuku, HI 96731

One of the best places to eat garlic shrimp scampi north of Oahu! There's also a highly recommended corn-on-the-cob stand a few stalls down.

Haleʻiwa Bowls

66-030 Kamehameha Highway, Haleiwa, HI 96712

A great place to stop by if you're exploring North Shore and want some yummy acai bowls!

Ono Seafood

747 Kapahulu Avenue, Honolulu, HI 96816
, (808) 732-4806

If you're in the mood for some poke, visit Ono Seafood. The parking lot is tiny so be prepared to look for street parking.

Foodland Farms Ala Moana

1450 Ala Moana Boulevard, Honolulu, HI 96814
, (808) 949-5044

A grocery store located at Ala Moana Shopping Center featuring an amazing poke bar. We recommend picking up some poke and enjoying it at the beach across the street!

Laniakea Beach

North Shore, HI 96712

Looking to get some sun and have fun in the water? We recommend visiting beaches away from town (Honolulu, HI). Beach whale yourself on one of the many beaches along the North Shore coast. On your drive up to North Shore, the highway/road will end up being a two lane traffic zone. Expect traffic when leaving during rush hour. Parking may be difficult and please do not park and block residential homes. If you see any turtles or sea life on the beach, please do not disturb, poke, or approach them. Respect our marine life and 'aina (land).
