(As told by Kenneth...) Our story began in 2018. We met at a church fellowship in Chinatown. After a couple of months of texting and getting to know each other, we found out that we have a lot in common: we both have a warm heart and kindness to others; we like to serve the community and volunteer; we share many interests and enjoy doing things together. But most importantly, we both have the same faith and love God. We spent hours walking inside Central Park. Finally, I had the courage to ask her on her birthday weekend to be my girlfriend at Cat Rock in the very same park. (As told by Alice...) When I first met Kenneth, he told me that we once crossed paths a couple of years ago at a mutual friend's wedding and he remembered me. I thought "what a cheesy pick up line" from this shy geeky guy. But over the next few months, I saw the other sides of him: kind, thoughtful, genuine and funny (yes, he has a sense of humor!). Our first date was a visit to the Museum of Natural History. After some awkward silence, he pointed at one of the fossils and said "look, this one with long beak looks like psyduck" (he knew I liked Pokemon). I bursted in laughter and that broke the ice for us. Special thanks to Michelle for introducing us indirectly!
After 2 years of dating, we found that it was time to move on to the next important stage of our lives - marriage. We went through some of the ups and downs in life. We cried and laughed countlessly together and our love has grown stronger for each other. Proposing and getting married during COVID was not an easy decision to make. In March 2020, under much limitations, I had the courage to perform a little sweet dance in front of her. When I kneeled down with the ring on my hand, she was really surprised. Waiting for her words with nervousness, I finally got a "YES"!
