For those who like a decent flat white - Jonny has recently discovered a roastery approx 15 min drive from the venue. They also have food available so would make a great option for brunch!
Confession - we're yet to try this place, but it looks amazing - especially for the motorheads amongst you! Cafe / bar - great option for a pizza & beers if you're staying over. Only around 15 mins from the venue. Came across it when visiting the Coffee shop. They also sell coffees as well, so another option for your caffeine fix. Situated in The Depot - a former barracks & military storage base, definitely one to visit if you have time. https://the-depot.uk/history/
Obviously Jonny is very much in his running era right now. To take his mind of things Saturday morning, he will be going to Daventry Parkrun (and no doubt trying to win it - even though it's officially not a race!) For those who don't know, parkrun is a friendly 5km run held every Saturday at 9am. It's free to enter & is ran entirely by volunteers. The Daventry one is approx 15 min drive from the venue.
If you have half a day free, Warwick is a lovely town to visit. This is where we first lived together and it will always hold a special place in our heart. Lots of great cafes, pubs & restaurants you can visit. St Nicholas' Park is great if the weather is on our side & of course it is home to Warwick Castle (one of Ted's absolute favourites!)
Another part of the world we've spent a lot of time at! When Jonny first started working for JLR, he lived in Leamington Spa. This was when we first starting dating, so is another place that we have a lot fond memories of! Similar to Warwick, you won't be short of places to eat & drink here. There are several parks that are lovely during the summer, our favourite would be Jephson Gardens.
If you like pubs, this place has plenty of them! Recommended from Jonny's cycling days, one of his favourite villages to cycle through in the local area - maybe something to do with the 7 pubs it has available ...
A lovely place to enjoy a walk in the sunshine. Also the home of the local Parkrun on Saturday morning! Approx 15 min drive from the venue. You can also wander into Daventry if you wanted to find somewhere to eat or drink
Bit closer to home for us! Around 15-20 mins from the venue. Here you'll find The Square (Jonny's local go to for a decent coffee) - great for pastries & coffee in the morning but also offer amazing street food on Friday night's - check their instagram to see what's on! They also have our favourite local pub - The Dun Cow. Most of our friend's who have visited will have been here with us, we love it! You also have a reservoir at Draycote Water which is lovely to walk round if the weather is nice.
