Question

What is a Ceilidh?

Answer

Ceilidh comes from the Gaelic word for 'party'. In it's modern usage, a ceilidh is essentially a big highland barn dance. The beauty of a ceilidh is it's a dance for seasoned pros and those of us with two left feet. Accompanying the traditional jigs, is a 'caller' who guides everyone through the steps. You don't need skill for a ceilidh, you just need enthusiasm, a willingness to look a bit of prat and a sense of humour; helped a long with an [optional] glug of liquid courage!

Question
