Our Love Story It all began August 29th, 2022, in a little café called Palm Coast Coffee on Saint Simons Island, Georgia. Erik had just moved to Georgia—only his third day there—and decided to go on a date! We were both so nervous that we could barely eat our food, too busy laughing and getting to know each other. What started as a casual coffee date quickly turned into something unforgettable. Not long after, life threw us our first big test. Erik had to leave Georgia to finish his police training in Maryland for a couple months. We knew it wouldn’t be easy, but we also knew what we had was worth it. Those months apart only made our connection stronger. When training ended, we decided to take a leap together and move to Texas to start our next chapter side by side. Fast forward to our dream trip to Hawaii—our last adventure before Erik left for a few more months of training in the Army. Alice moved to Colorado a month before our trip, and the day she left Erik was so heartbroken saying goodbye that he went and bought an engagement ring that same day. He never wanted to feel that kind of distance between us again. We planned a sunrise photo shoot at the breathtaking Halona Blowhole on the southern coast of Oahu. It was early—so early that we were still half-asleep when we arrived—but it felt magical watching the waves crash against the rocks. During the shoot, our photographer gave Erik the signal, and suddenly he turned to Alice, eyes full of emotion. He told Alice how much he loved her, and before she could process what was happening, he was down on one knee asking Alice to be his forever. Alice gasped, shouted “Oh my God!”—and of course, said yes. It was the perfect moment for us—by the water, just like when Erik first asked Alice to be his girlfriend and again when we said “I love you” for the very first time. Everything had come full circle, and now, we can’t wait to continue our story as husband and wife.
