Things To Do

Fun Activities: in (somewhat) descending order of seriousness
First Friday

First Friday

1 Courthouse Square St, Greencastle, IN 46135

Join us downtown after the rehearsal dinner Friday evening for First Friday, a collection of live music, craft beer, and food trucks.

DePauw Nature Park

DePauw Nature Park

1400 West County Road 125 South, Greencastle, IN 46135

A five-minute drive or 25-minute walk from downtown Greencastle, the Nature Park offers 520 acres of walking and running trails around an old limestone quarry.

Turkey Run State Park

Turkey Run State Park

8121 Park Road, Marshall, IN 47859

About 40 minutes from Greencastle is the state park where we took our engagement photos. Would highly recommend for those looking to head out of town for a Saturday activity!

Virginia B. Fairbanks Art & Nature Park

Virginia B. Fairbanks Art & Nature Park

1850 West 38th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46228

A must see if you venture into Indianapolis. Don't believe me? Take John Green's word for it: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/AE94WCs1v1I

Fern Cliff Nature Preserve

West County Road 375 South, Greencastle, IN 46135

Cool cliffs. Alice used to go here with her dad growing up. If going with children, hold on to them. Alice's mom feared for their lives every time they would go.

William Henry Harrison's Grouseland

William Henry Harrison's Grouseland

3 West Scott Street, Vincennes, IN 47591

Kind of far (~1.5 hr drive), but this is where William Henry Harrison is from. He was president for like a month--Indiana's pride and joy! In lieu of actually going here, you can watch Season 7 Episode 3 ("William Henry Harrison") of Parks and Recreation on Peacock™. Update: upon further research, Harrison was actually from Virginia and only moved to Indiana after John Adams appointed him the first Governor of the Indiana Territory in 1801.

Indiana University Memorial Stadium

Indiana University Memorial Stadium

701 East 17th Street, Bloomington, IN 47408

If you venture over to Bloomington (~1 hour away, Alice's parents met there in grad school!), stop by and see the house that Curt Cignetti built with his bare hands.
