Ali and I met back in the winter of 2014 in Pakistan when I was there attending my cousin's wedding. He was about to come back home from a work trip from Budapest while I was enjoying all of the pre-wedding festivities with my family. Everyone in the family was excited at Ali’s arrival and I got a bit jealous as I had traveled all the way from USA. As the designated choreographer for the family, I started teaching dance to everyone that would participate including Ali. At the first practice, I could definitely tell Ali’s dance skills were subpar however the next day I saw a DRASTIC improvement in his dancing skills. Made me wonder how can someone improve this much this fast? Through many dance practices and running a bunch of wedding errands, Ali and I bonded and formed a beautiful friendship, and that's how we met...

Ali and I continued to talk after my visit to Pakistan. Overtime it became obvious we wanted to be with each other but the distance was getting in the way. So, we decided that we will take a trip to Thailand where we can spend some time together during our winter holidays. After coming back from an adventurous trip, It was confirmed that we wanted to be exclusive! We continued to date long-distance and took that to our advantage by planning great international adventures every year. We took trips to Budapest, Paris, Dubai, Thailand (Round 2) and Turkey. With each trip, we got to know each other better. We realized we were complete opposites: He was introverted and I was extroverted; He was calm, I was energetic (after all he is an Aquarius and I am a Leo); I began to see just how amazing Ali was and would cherish our conversations and time together. Our bond grew stronger and our love for each other kept growing.

On our second trip to Thailand in the year 2017, Ali had decided that this will be the place where he would propose to me. I was just excited to re-visit Thailand and getting to know the country even better. On a bright sunny day, we had decided to go to a restaurant by the beach to have some lunch. When I walked in, the place seemed to be empty and the waiters were really excited to show us to our tables. As I was looking at the menu, I turned to Ali and there he was on one knee with a beautiful ring, asking me to be his forever partner. Of course, I said yes! Little did I know Ali had arranged for our friends and family to be a part of this proposal through social media. It felt surreal and we were so excited to start a new chapter of our lives together.
