Fate brought the couple together in Savannah, Georgia at a local restaurant. When Ali, a college student, walked into Buffalo Wild Wings for her first day of training, Ronald immediately took notice of her. He introduced himself and later discovered that he would be her trainer. Little did they know this interaction would be the start of a special friendship. They spent their days working together and evenings sharing ideas on music, art, and philosophy. Their friendship continued to grow over time. After graduation, Ali moved to Orlando, Florida, and invited Ronald to join her. Ronald admitted that if he came, he did not plan to come only as a friend. Ali agreed to explore the idea of romance. Before moving, the two took a vacation to Key West, Florida, and it was during this trip that it became apparent that this friendship that they shared was love. They became a couple on this vacation on March 27th, 2021. In June of that year, Ronald moved to Florida to start his life with Ali.

Keeping it a surprise was a challenge for Ronald. He wanted this Valentine's Day to be one she wouldn't forget. After discovering the most romantic places in the city, Ronald decided to propose at Friendship Fountain in Jacksonville, Florida, symbolizing how friendship has been the foundation of their love. Ronald hired a photographer to capture their engagement, which was on brand for Ali, who loves to be in front of the camera. The setting was perfect, and the photographer helped with the evening, as he was in on the surprise. Ronald began to share with Ali his favorite story to tell - the story of how they met. As the sun was setting, Ronald dropped to one knee and asked the love of his life if she would spend the rest of her life with him as his wife. Unsurprisingly, she said yes, and their love story continues.
