It all started on a brisk October day...wait, wait. That's not true because her parents had been trying to set us up FOR MONTHS. While and Ali and I didn't officially meet until October 17, 2020, a picture exists of us together from May 23. 2020 when we did the CrossFit workout Murph. Neither of us remember seeing each other that day. I did, however meet her father Courage. I thought he was just being friendly. Later on, I found out he was "testing me out" to see if I would be a good candidate to date his daughter. Later in June, I met her mom Sandy at CrossFit Postal still not knowing about Ali. I just thought they were cool, fit, Jesus loving people. I learned more about them as time went on, but never knew they had been talking about me to Ali all along. Later in the summer, Sandy said to me after a workout: "What's wrong with you? Why don't you have a girlfriend? You know I have a daughter." I said "I'm sure I'd like her, but I've been burned by being set up before. I'd have to interact with her in a group first" to which Sandy responded "She probably wouldn't like you anyways since you're a pastor like her dad." Courage reminded me a few weeks later "that his daughter was waiting for me to take her out to coffee", but I still didn't do anything with that information. Ali and I didn't officially meet until October 17 AT ANOTHER Murph workout #CrossFitCouple. I thought she had nice legs and she thought I was a "doorknob" because I didn't talk much. I was grilling chicken with Courage, so naturally as a man I can't multitask and talk to a pretty girl too. We only saw each other one time in passing before we FINALLY hung out in a group on January 9, 2021. We knew something was different about each other that night, but I didn't ask her out until January 27 and our first date was that Saturday. We've had our highs and lows as we have grown in love together, but Jesus has constantly taught us to trust him as the center and one true leader of our relationship.
