We're getting married!

How We Met: We are Alissa Drake and Maxwell Schmidt, but friends and family call us Ali and Max. While it may come as a shock to some, we actually met through modern technology... Bumble. It was a few months into Covid when we first began talking. July 6th to be exact. Our first date was only five days later! The First Date: Max borrowed his step-dad's truck to pick Ali up that Saturday night and brought her to Fratellos in Oshkosh for supper. They hit it off and even commented on how they both felt as if they had known each other their whole lives! (Max had a mullet at this time so Ali must have really loved his personality.) The next weekend Ali's family went up north for vacation in Minoqua, and Max joined them for a day. On July 19 of 2020, Max asked Ali to be his girlfriend while sitting on the fishing dock. The Proposal: Ali and Max both realized very quickly that they were meant to be together for life. Just over a year later, Ali's family was going on vacation up north again. Max was going to be joining later that weekend, or so Ali thought. When her family arrived at the cabin, they all went down to the lake right away. Sitting in the sand was a mysterious bottle. Ali's family prompted her to see what was inside that bottle. It was a letter from Max! When she finished reading it, she turned around to find Max down on one knee. He proposed and Ali obviously said yes! Ali is currently working as a Labor and Delivery nurse in Green Bay while Max is a firefighter for the city of Neenah/Menasha. We are thrilled to be taking this next step in life together and cannot wait for October 15th to be here!
